January 15th, 2017 marked the 36th year of a Federal Holiday celebrating the exemplary life and man Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.. He was an activist for civil rights for nearly 15 years before his death and then it took another 13 years for his name and his powerful message to be recognized and yet still to this day many people in our country struggle to heed his powerful message of unity and peace!
